Many thanks to VCU/MCV for letting me into the underground tunnels. In the past they were used as a means to transport patients from building to building without having to go outside. Now they mostly carry steam and water pipes. While not abandoned and still fairly active, some parts are frozen in time, especially the signs that point to buildings that no longer exist.
