Many thanks to all those who attended our first Cowichan Jacobin Reading Group meeting. We had eight people around the little table at the United Church in Duncan. We had decided we would spend this first meeting setting out a path for the next few meetings. Our facilitator welcomed everyone and placed before us his suggestion for an article which we all decided would allow broad discussion as well as dovetailing with other associated articles we may choose to bring in to further the conversation. If that should change you will be the second to know In addition we have decided that as a little group project we will fashion some probing questions to bring to some of the many all candidate meetings which will occur in Cowichan over the next 6 weeks leading up to the municipal and school board elections. We hope this will allow us to inspire discussion and debate among those in attendance as they consider the value of those seeking to lead our local governments. Let me know if you are interested in helping with this. In the meantime please consider joining us at the next meeting. Our conversation tonight was both philosophical and practical.
