The plights of St John the Baptist (Mk 6: 14-29)its climax the Church celebrates today show the interconnectivity of vices led by pride.King Herod loved Hohn and respected him an upright man who could not compromise the truth but Herod was blind folded by pride when pushed by pride he made and oath to the daughter of Herodias.Out of pride he could not hold by from beheading John.This first vice pride begot many other vices which consumed Herod.John is an epitome of a Prophet with that rare but a sene qua non character to be a prophet.John was one Prophet that never compromised, a voice of the people that spoke out loudly against evil in high places.He was one but here in our country each household has its own prophet, prayer worrior etc yet evil thrive, the conclusion is that we lack the courage and faith of John,Jeremaih and the old prophets(Deu 31:6):God please send another John for Herodias and daughters,Jezebels,Herods abound in our societies
