Many times, I have had people - fortunately, never emergency services - knock on my door and ask which house was such-and-such a number. Our house number is posted right beneath a porch light - how about yours? If you live on a street where there are few street lights or, like ours, where mature trees block some of the light, leave your porch light on, even if your house number is otherwise lighted. Ive walked Delano sidewalks after dark, and some streets are much safer-feeling than others. Porch and yard lights make a big difference.
