Many volunteers do good n thinking they have already done so much good n they feel good But many n many n many volunteers didnt realize these: MIND : Are the thoughts pure? Putting blaming on others. Bad motives. Gaining of self satisfaction. Being very judgemental. Showing off own capabilities n pin other down. Gaining fame from doing charity. Cheating public donations. Doing for own selfish reasons. SPEECH : Choice of words used. Words can uplift one Soul (Praising) Words can also drown a Ship of Warriors (Discouraging) BODY : Actions taken whether at an appropriate timing & location And also depend on the conditions that needed so as to be able to complete the tasks (天时, 地利, 人和) Even if the recipients / receiving needy feel good about what a volunteer has done for them, that does not mean the volunteer can / will be able to accumulate lots of merits n good Karma. Unless the (MIND) intention is pure. And (SPEECH) word said are exactly as what the mind is thinking in a pure form without any ill intention. Do good deeds without expecting anything in return.
