Many who know me know I have a deep heart for orphaned and abandoned kids. Read this compelling story from my home area of South Jersey sent to me by Val Neighbors. Here is the story you will not read on the GoFundMe site: Im reaching out in reference to my post last night about the little girl who is now in the custody of her father. Her mother and father had dated on and off when she got pregnant and moved away. He was in the military and she never told him she was pregnant. He came back to NJ and still didnt know he had a daughter. It wasnt until the babys mother was murdered by her boyfriend shortly before Christmas that he found out. The little girl was inside the apartment while her mother lay dead outside. She was placed in foster care until the father could get an emergency DNA test confirming he was the dad. Anyway, Alana (the baby) was brought to her dad with no shoes, lightweight jacket and the clothes on her back 2 days before Christmas. No diapers, wipes, bottle, nada. So, he needs everything. We have local donations of clothes, crib, stroller, etc. however he will need a lot more. Im asking based on your circle of influence if youd please share. I know you have such a giving heart and love helping others. You should also know that Alanas mom who was killed grew up in and out of a ton of foster homes. So, Alana doesnt have anyone on her mothers side by way of a family connection. She wasnt adopted by any parents. It makes this sad story even more sad. I cry everything I think about it.
