Many writers who came to the Sun Valley Writers Conference two decades ago were thrilled to find limited editions and first editions of their work in our SVWC bookstore, thanks to Gary Allen Hunt, the proprietor of Iconoclast Books. Those were the early days in our relationship with this marvelous bookstore, as well as with its owners Gary and his wife, Sarah. Those connections deepened over time and when Gary died in 2008, we were privileged to be able to continue working with Sarah, who has built Iconoclast Books into the beloved bookstore that it is today. It truly is the heart of the community - a vital gathering place for readers and writers, and all those who value books and ideas. We believe in Iconoclast and look forward to a continuing alliance between the conference and the bookstore in the years to come. The on-line fund-raising effort (https://indiegogo/projects/save-iconoclast-books-one-day-left) has reached its deadline but the campaign to save Iconoclast is clearly not over. To get the next phase underway, friends from the Board of the Sun Valley Writers’ Conference are contributing $5,000.
