Many years ago I told a friend that for me, following God was like following a drum beat. Somehow, I could hear and feel for the next step if I listened. Ive recently come across the word daemon (meaning something like inner god) to articulate this inner creative force, or even the creation itself. Like a baby being born, and eventually the child inspiring me and teaching me, even as I have the responsibility of caring for its nurturance, opportunities and well-being. Right now, I would say this inner rhythm is revealing my lifes work as a kind of weaving. It involves listening to and learning from the connections of lineage (biological, spiritual, and a sprinkle of unknown), the importance of the body and how it informs us, listening to and connecting to those who are tuned in to the pulse of the future, weaving conversations in my own heart and being blown away by the people drawn into these conversations with me. Also of great importance is what Im learning about intimate partnership and the tremendous strength and overflowing gift of deep commitment when each of our deep purpose is aligned. This is another facet Im exploring with others in similar situations and seeing the wisdom it has for us as an evolving society. How do you sense your own daemon? And what is it revealing to you about your own lifes work and purpose?
