Many years ago I was retrenched from a company I loved. (I would have still been there today) The reason: I chose to NOT relocate to another country to take on an international position. It would have meant loads of time away travelling between countries, from my toddler at the time, Ethan. When I raised this the best school was worked into my package and the offer of an aupair happened. I was a different person back then but one thing was sure: My child(ren) were more important than all the money and titles the world had to offer. I just read an email I sent all that time ago - one of the reasons I stated for not going was that I believed there was more important work for me to do in my own country... NOTHING has changed - only difference is that I now know what I want to do... its taken loads of hitting head against the wall, bouts of crazy self doubt, depression, feelings of inadequacy in the move from corporate hotshot to small business owner. My ideas changed, my mind changed a million times, pain surfaced and was dealt with and now Im ready to roll out...
