Many years ago, I would have considered this hogwash. After thirty years however, and much frustration with corporate I/T culture, I have to fully agree with the author. My personal anecdotal evidence is strongly in favor of the article. (A few of you even know the details of specific reasons with personal ramifications why that is actually some very strong evidence.) So much for just do a great job and let results speak for themselves. This has been wrong in my personal experience.
