Many years ago, When I was a young man and wanted to change the world, I brought my ideas of sustainable packaging to the folks at IDEO. I knew I had found a group that could help me bring them to life. In 2006 I was speaking at a packaging conference on the east coast about the creation of our molded fiber soap boxes that grow plants as well as many of the other forward thinking concepts that are built into the Pangea Organics brand. After I gave my talk, a few people came up to me and started chatting with me, one of them was one of the heads of the marketing team at Pepsi co, she told me they have had our packaging in their design room and it has been inspiring them to take steps towards more conscious choices when it comes to their own design. Its important to know that whether you are one person or a small brand like Pangea, your passion, your dreams, your mission can change the world if you do one thing…execute. I was thrilled hear from our head of design Josh Ivy that HP is launching their lap tops in molded fiber this year. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, especially when it serves the greater good. Every morning when you wake up, you begin to change the world, what you choose to do with your actions, your words and the things your create will form what those changes are. I feel honored to have had Ivy for almost 11 years carrying the torch of forward thinking design at Pangea and the rest of our epic team and all of our Beauty Ecologists that continue to bring this brand to life. And thanks to Dan Bomze, Amy Leventhal, Ian Groulx and Marc Woollard the team at IDEO who thought I was the right brand of crazy to work with. The Fringe Predicts the Future!
