Many years ago in one of my earliest drafts of _A Perfect Hatred_ (a series based on an act of domestic terrorism), I wrote a scene where a Christian Identity preacher gives a sermon about his beliefs. Google Christian Identity or Identity Christianity and youll be disgusted. To write the scene I had to read a lot of disgusting, racist, misogynistic garbage. In the various edits and rewrites of _A Perfect Hatred_, Ive avoided that scene because I just didnt want to go to that place again. Its a critical scene, and I cant solve the issue by simply deleting it. Im now at the point in the most recent revising process where Im at that scene. Ive avoided looking at it all afternoon by playing solitaire or goofing off on Facebook. Theres no getting around it. I have to edit that scene.
