Many years ago, the king of Irele had a servant who was a grumbler. Everyday the servant complained about his hard he had to toil in return for a bare living. Yet, his plantation was small, and he seldomly worked whenever he went to the farm. Besides, the king, his master, was a very kind man. Although, he knew that his servant was lazy and did not appreciate his kindness, he did not dismiss him from his service. One day as he was working on his plantation, and grumbling as usual, a message came from the king that the servant should report in the palace at the end of the days work. He was frightened. What had the king call me for? He says. It was unusual for the king to summon a servant to come before him. For once, he was so occupied with the thought of this that he forgot to grumble. I have a special assignment for you tomorrow , the king said. He described a spot marked with a big black stone, a few metres away from the big mango tree in the plantation on which the servant worked. Roll the big stone away and dig a hole one metre long, one metre wide and two metres deep. When youve finished, report back to the palace. The grumbling servant annoyed at digging a hole the use of which he was not told, dug only one metre deep at the end of the second day. The king was so annoyed that he sent another servant to complete the work. This other servant completed the work. This other servant had dug only half a metre deep when he discovered a parcel whose outer cover was a piece of rag. It was heavy. He unwrapped it and saw one hundred naira in coins. He ran to the king to report his discovery. The king told him, keep it thats your luck. ANY LESSON LEARNT? COMMENT HEREUNDER!
