Many young people are collecting their exam results today, which will often determine the next step in their future career path. Research undertaken by the DofE suggests that 93% of DofE participants feel under pressure to demonstrate not just their academic achievements to potential employers, but also that they will be an ‘all-rounder’ in the workplace. However, the research also found that 83% believe that completing their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award will help them to demonstrate these skills such as team working, commitment confidence and drive, and make it easier for them to get a job. Furthermore, nearly a quarter felt that participating in their DofE activities has given them some ideas for their future profession.
