Mao Division For Niyamgiri Bhubaneswar : 19/September/2013 In a move to gain control over the rich bauxite mining zones of Niyamgiri and Karlapat, the Maoists have created a Special Division for these areas to prevent the mining giants to explore and exploit the resources. Reliable sources reveal that the Left Wing Extremists (LWE)s, who were hyper active during the meeting of the Palli Sabhas in Kalahandi and Rayagada district, have established Niyamgiri-Karlapat Division to strengthen their base. Both Niyamgiri and Karlapat have rich bauxite deposits and State Government is interested to exploit the resources, through its’ state owned Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) to feed the aluminum industries of the state. Earlier these ultras were using the jungles of Kalahandi and Nuapada as their corridor to move out from Chhatishgarh, but now they are concentrating in these areas with a full- fledged Division in action, said sources. Recently, the Maoist in Odisha have reorganized their State Level Committee and in absence of any Odia leading the team, leadership has gone to ultras from Chhatisgarh and Andhra Pradesh, said sources. Nikhil from Chhatisgarh and Krishna from Adhra Pradesh are now taking lead with around 80-100 cadres in the state, intelligence inputs received. Now Bargarh- Balangir-Mahasamund, Nuapada, Sambalpur-Deogarh and Kalinga Divisions have been erected under Odisha State Organizing Committee. Chhatisgarhis are ruling the roost in Odisha and they are targeting the major mining and industrial zones for resources and cadres. Availability of cadres have posed a big problem for these ultras as most of the local cadres are facing harassment from the Chhatishgarhis, who are dangerous, ruthless and cruel, admit the insiders, who have surrendered to Odisha Police. While Chhatishgarhis and Andhraites are trying to rebuild their organization, former Chief of Bansadhara Division, Sabyasachi Panda is losing strength day by day. Intelligence inputs claim that Panda is left with only seven ultras out of which four are women. The newly created Odisha Maobadi Party(OMP) cadres are dwindling and feeling threatened over growing influence of Nikhil and Krishna. One after another Member of OMP are either surrendering or being arrested by the Odisha Police, which is determined to eliminate the LWEs from the state. And Akhileswar Singh, the no-nonsense top cop proved his mettle in Malkangiri recently by eliminating 13 ultras, raising the image of Odisha Police led by Prakash Mishra, DGP. Recently, Koraput SP Awinash Kumar eliminated the dreaded Maoist Madhav, who was wanted in more than 50 heinous crimes in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. DGP Mr.Mishra along with Director Intelligence Mr. Abhya providing much needed support and intelligence inputs to the brave hearts engaged in anti-Maoist operations in Malkangiri, Korapaut, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Gajapati, Ganjam and Kandhamal.
