Maori and pacific people are at the top end of almost every - TopicsExpress

Maori and pacific people are at the top end of almost every negative statistic in NZ. Education, poor health, child abuse, poor housing, unemployment etc, etc we all know this. How do we balance this with where non maori sit on the same lists? Can we balance this? Why should we balance this? Is there unfairness in how we are all treated as people? Are we responsible for ourselves first? Why are maori so overly represented in such degrading areas of society? Did colonisation play a part in this? Did maori greed and lack of understanding allow those with full knowledge in their actions to disenfranchise an entire race for profit? was this acceptable then? Would it be acceptable today? were/are maori greedy in their actions because of their forced detachment from their cultural roots? Is ANY fair and equal society a myth? Are the actions of ALL our ancestors our responsibility today? Judgement with ignorance leads to hatred. Question everything. Aim to understand why.
