Marathon Day in the woods today. Not so much the time sitting in a Treestand. But moreso enduring the 9 hours of constant rain out of 11 hours spent on stand. At lunchtime, I had to put the clothes in the dryer....only to get soaked again for the afternoon hunt. Discouraged? Defeated? Disenchanted? HARDLY!! Seeing that triple beamed buck made every hypothermic minute worth it!! It will only get better. The does are at least 4-5 days from standing. We have had (5) BIG BUCK encounters in the last 2 days. Now is the Time. I always preach this, the big bucks know the does are nearing, they will trail them to their daytime beds. HOWEVER, they will not stay with them. My experience, the next 3 days are all so critical. I have seen the Biggest Bucks cruising between 11:00AM and 1:00PM looking in earnest for a receptive doe. For all of my #BirdsOfAFeather, forego that noontime nap..... Copy that Joe!! Chris, I hope will can get it done. We will try as hard as those bucks!!
