Marathon finished, phew glad thats done, what an experience :). I wanted to wait until after the race to share the link for you to make a donation towards epilepsy and Parkinsons disease. What many of you dont know is how close I was to pulling out of the race due to injury. The conflicted emotions were almost too much for me to handle (ok I may have shed a few tears ). I didnt want to ask for a donation until I KNEW I could run the race. In the end, my decision to run (or walk if I needed to) came from my daughter teagan and all those who live with epilepsy and or Parkinsons disease. All I could think about was how they only wish they had the CHOICE to live free of epilepsy and or the discomfort of their disease. I decided I needed to SUCK IT UP and finish what I started. I decided that it didnt matter how I finished only that I started and gave it 100%. I listened to my body and had a plan to see this race through - running, walking or crawling I was going to finish this race. For the first 12 km I was uncertain if I could do it, mentally I was very strong but my body was already screaming at me. I pushed through and got into a grove. At the half way mark my awesome hubby mike and my girls were there to cheer me along! Their smiles and cheers gave me the energy boost I needed to take it all the way home:). I want I thank all those who came out to cheer on all the runners and thank Cindy for the lucky socks :) Cindy Todd and I have decided to put our fundraising efforts together and raise money and awareness for epilepsy and Parkinsons disease. If you would like to make a donation please click on Cindy Todds link. She will share it with you through our strength in 2 fitness FB group. Thanks in advanced for your support:). Now that I have officially crossed the finish line feel free to donate lol.
