March 12 Ignorance We respected our own and others’ emotions and stopped pretending that we knew something about everything, and as a result, we became more content. Active Addictions Anonymous - The Wild Life, page 21 While we were growing up, many of us were mocked in different ways, if there was something we did not know. Sometimes, we were called evil when we unknowingly happened to harm another living being. At other times, we were called stupid, when we were ignorant about something or the other, in tones that made us squirm. This led some of us to decide that once we grew up we would no longer be ignorant, and this resulted in us having more and more difficulty in admitting our human ignorance, and as a consequence we pretended to know something about everything. Our pretension created a lot of anxiety in us, because we were afraid that someone might disclose our human limitation, ignorance, powerlessness and mortality/changeability, and this made our social life more difficult than it needed to be. Todays contemplation Today, I will use my AcAdAn Program to free myself from my fear of my human ignorance.
