March 13, 2014 Good Thursday morning to you all, how are you this morning? I hear it said all the time these days that many of us that make the claim of being saved are not truly saved. I recently heard that less than 20% of those claiming salvation are truly saved, that’s a very scary thought for me. I remember very well the time I prayed for Jesus to take over my life and save me into eternal salvation. I also know that I spent a great deal of my life completely away from Christ. I did not go to church, I did not read my Bible, most of the time I could not even tell you where my Bible was. Now, I question maybe I was not really saved back then, I just thought I was, for salvation into eternal life should have changed me wholely. I no longer question this, for yes, I have changed completely, I am not the man I was not long ago. God has touched me greatly recently and I am so very happy about that. Maybe it is time for all of us to take a good long, hard look at ourselves, evaluate just where we are in Christ Jesus. We are all saying to our self that yes, we are saved, we may need to step up our actions a little but we are saved and we are secure in that. I ask you, are we better than Christ disciples? Read these scriptures thinking about your own self now; Mark 6:45 And immediately He constrained His disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while He sent away the people. 6:46 And when He had sent them away, He departed into a mountain to pray. 6:47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and He alone on the land. 6:48 And He saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night He comes unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. 6:49 But when they saw Him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: 6:50 For they all saw Him, and were troubled. And immediately He talked with them, and says unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. 6:51 And He went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. 6:52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened. The disciples had just seen Christ take only five loaves of bread and two fishes and feed a very large crowd. The Bible tells us there were five thousand men, now, if you had wives and children to that number it has to be a pretty big number. Christ not only feed all of them but collected twelve baskets full of the peoples left overs. I guess maybe the disciples had seen to this point that Christ had done a lot of these miracles and didn’t think anything of it, I don’t know but they still questioned. When we see them out in the middle of that sea, being wiped by a storm they had all lost faith, they still believed, I’m sure but like us, they lost a little for they were afraid. Even when they saw Christ walking on top of the water they still had their unbelief. Christ even saw this, Matthew 8: 26. Are we no better than they? We also need to do as the disciples did and get down before Jesus and ask for forgiveness. We are all human and we all are going to slip up from time to time, all we can do is go before Him and lay it out before Him. He knows what your slip was, He knows the unbelief in your heart but He wants you to come back before Him and confess it all. Need any help with that? I have a lot of friends that can help or I’ll talk with you as well, one on one. This is very important, please remember that, time is going by faster and faster and the end for you could be today. The saying “Live like there is no tomorrow” stands pretty good right here, there may be no tomorrow. God Bless you my friends, may your day be a good day for our Lord.
