March 18 2014 Winters Persistence Conscious Unknown Wait for Light The flow of life follows its majestic course through the endless presumptions of humanity. The soul meditating feels the indescribable joys of life natural; of intellect ascendant; of emotions ineffable. The heart praying embraces the Living God offering His Only Begotten Son as Grace to be enjoyed and developed. The sincere mind seeks Truth and Kindness and Healing for the whole of the Creation. And, within these blessed journeys there are those moments as dark as the grave itself. A second of quiet raises up the vision of tearful mother which the child is unable to assist. Another recalls a childs plaintive question unveiling its doubt and this hearts terrifying failure to protect the innocent. The chasm between God and creature; the abyss between intention and action; Hearts silent tears are met with environments stony rebuttal...The Dark Night of the Soul echoes through one sentence...One horrifically loud cry... Why make me feel if you give me not strength; nor wisdom; nor patience; nor resources? A friend ignored. A child lost. Lover disappointed. If these are the reflections from the Garden and the Angels surrounding you, what then flows from your own being? Enter into the depths of Scripture. We meditate the wonder of the Healing Son as well as the paradox of the Children being healed only to turn upon Him healing them. Just like the uncertainty of meditation and contemplation, we embrace closely Scripture through the traditions of our genes and the reflections of our endless biography. The communal embraces of pastoral rituals and fellowship do indeed help the soul and rest the mind...Enter, too, into the Wilderness of solitude there to face the Deceiver...Or the Christ. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.(Jn 6:46-51) The Jews then disputed among themselves, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?(Jn 6:52) Think of a time and place in which living sacrifice is a pillar of society. We may look at the Canaanites of old following the custom of offering (literally and symbolically) the first born so that one may prove his worthiness to be king. Ponder that for a moment. Now embrace the majestic Epiphany of The God revealing the worthiness of the Father of a Nation through the salvation of the son. Turn the Tale of Abraham and Isaac on its head for a moment. Abraham was willing to kill the son for temporal power...Abrahams faith rested in the grotesque customs of human society...And God revealed the Greatness of God in the Survival of the Son. Again, the abyss opens. God saved Isaac. And humanity reacted to The Son of Man, how? Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food, indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the Living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever. This he said in the synagogue at Capernaum.(Jn 6:53-59) Behold, the miracle of this Revelation. A soul overturns the entire socio-spiritual foundation of the creature. I save not through power or the remission of lifes sufferings. I offer salvation through the acceptance of the sacrifice. We hear the echoes not of Abrahams Faith, but rather of Isaacs! We enter into the Living Body of Christ in the radiant speculation of Christ Jesus being the Only Begotten Creation of the Living God. Every creature born of female enters into the existential dependence upon the Living Nature. That and those who came before become as Lamb for the next generation. And the beast humanity is the creature rebelling against the emotion. And, embrace the denial of the Spiritual Search of humanity into the new idolatry of science. And the winters shroud cuts short the embrace of Scripture.
