He says eternal life is meeting and knowing God and His Son Jesus Christ. The word know, in describing eternal life, means a progressive knowing. You met Him and are learning more about Him. You are growing to know Him in an intimate way. It is somewhat like a person getting to know their spouse. It grows and grows in never ending love and understanding.
