March 23, 1996. I seen Garth Brooks in Cleveland ohio for the first time. I waited 4 hours outside Coconuts music store in Elyria, which is now Olive Garden for tickets to go on sale. I cried three times that morning, as I feared not getting tickets. about 23 minutes would go by and they would say sold out... then wait another show might be added .... 4 shows sold out that day in a matter of 23-25 minutes each. Back then, everyone loved him because he had the cheapest tickets of any artist, less than $20, I believe $16.50 plus ticket master fees. though there was no question he would sell out... he sold them cheap! I received seats in section C107 for the 4th concert. Minutes later they sold out! 99.5 WGAR had a contest, every 99 minutes and 5 seconds they would play a garth song and give away tickets. I set my alarm every freaken hour to try and win, but I won nothing!.. I only had tickets to that one show! One year later, Garth played central park August 7, of 2007. Just a week earlier he played Coopers Stadium in Columbus. The same situation occurred, I called and called and received tickets to the 4th of 6 concerts there. The stupid man on the phone told me I was the first one to buy tickets for this show...I would have front seats!!! I about peed my pants with excitement!! Going down to Columbus we were lost and on the high way!!! AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW? A huge White van with a Big garth brooks cursive blue G on the back cut us off the road merging into traffic!!! We found our way by following the truck!!! I will never forget this day!!! ESPECIALLY when I arrived to my front row seats just to find out it was a baseball field, and he put his stage in the outfield!.. I had horrible seats! He wore a red jersey that day with the number 7 on it... but from my seats, without binoculars, it looked like a 1. NEEDLESS TO SAY.. FINDING OUT TODAY THAT HE SOLD OUT TEN SHOWS IN CHICAGO FOR SEPTEMBER DATES MAKES ME NERVOUS IF I WILL GET THE ITCH ALL OVER AGAIN TO TRAVEL TO SEE THIS GUY! I literally donated my entire collection to goodwill after being mad about his retirement......#feeling stalkerish# stillangryathim
