March 25, 2014 An invitation from the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) Greetings! May we invite you to a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing by the Department of Education (DepEd)-7; the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI); and the mayors of the towns of Daanbantayan, Madridejos, Bantayan, and Sta. Fe, for the construction and/or repair of 184 classrooms and 20 day care centers in the said towns? The signing will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the covered court of Maya Elementary School in Daanbantayan town. It would be followed by another agreement signing at 2 p.m. in neighboring San Remigio, Cebu between RAFI, the local government unit, and Hilsfwerk Austria International for the construction of 300 housing units for Yolanda survivors in the town. Hilfswerk Austria International (HAI) is one of Austrias leading organizations for development cooperation and humanitarian aid, guided by the principles of sustainable development and universal Human Rights. Through its projects and programs, it aims to improving sustainably the life and perspectives of the beneficiaries, and chose to partner with RAFI and with San Remigio in extending aid to Yolanda survivors. Among those expected to grace t these important events are: • Gov. Hilario Davide III, • DepEd-7 Director Carmelita Dulangon, • DepEd-Cebu Province Schools Division Superintendent Arden Monisit, • Bantayan Mayor Ian Christopher Escario, • Madridejos Mayor Salvador dela Fuente, • Sta. Fe Mayor Jose Esgana, • Daanbantayan Mayor August Corro, • League of Municipalities of the Philippines-Cebu Province Chapter President Aljun Diamante. • San Remigio Mayor Mariano Martinez • HAI Managing Director Heidi Burkhart • RAFI Chief Operating Officer Dominica B. Chua RAFI would be providing transportation to the media people attending the events in Daanbantayan and in San Remigio. The vehicle/s would be stationed at the RAFI office at #35 Lopez Jaena St., Cebu City, right across Casa Gorordo Museum in Barangay Parian. The vehicle/s would depart for Daanbantayan town at around 7 a.m. Please confirm attendance not later than morning of Wednesday, March 26, 2014, to give the foundation time to arrange sufficient transportation.
