March 3, 2004 City Newspaper front page headline: "Small Wonder and the Agony of Defeat: Jovan Martin walks off of the mat after he suffered a stunning defeat in Saturday nights Championship match." It is followed by a picture of me in shock and in tears. I sat in my room and looked at that paper for hours, it hurt so bad, I had worked so hard to be in that match, I can guarantee you that I had worked harder than my opponent, because I always do. But for some reason I just lost, this is kinda the story of my life, always just an inch too short or day too late. It burns me too my core, almost as if this has been my curse since that fateful day. I pray that one day, just once more, that I can overcome the odds and reach the top of something once again.
