That is why the bedrock of Christianity is personal, passionate devotion to the Lord Jesus.” ~ Oswald Chambers Walking from my truck to the door I remember the brutal cold I felt this past Sunday. Even with warm clothes there was no keeping out the north wind and cold. It made daydreaming of spring all the more attractive. Once in the comfort and warmth of being inside I thought how dangerous it is for the homeless to be without safe and warm housing in times like this. I paused to pray and think of their plight. No matter how much our income, or how “insulated our house” we too risk exposure if not surrounded by God’s love and a relationship with Christ. Today’s quote reminds us of the importance of our commitment to Christ. The amazing fact about God; even in inclement weather he will not force us to “stay inside and remain secure.” If we choose to venture out into sin and leave our protection in the closet we have the freedom to do so. Some ignore the warnings and struggle through the consequences later. We may suffer financial hardship, broken relationships, self inflicted health issues, and other difficulties. Apply the truth of today’s quote and keep your relationship with Christ the central force of life. It can be a scary, dark world when we drift away unprepared and exposed to the destruction of sin. If you have wandered off, come home. Enjoy the security and warmth of the Father’s love. Don’t leave home without it! He is Our Anchor,
