Overwhelming force can be appropriate for Syria as necessary for an operation to handle a failed state. Iraq was a too much a rebel state of too much history with Saddam for maybe anymore than the troop levels deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom. As Syria is more a failed state of not having survived the new post Cold War politics and economics it is different and quite so as actually a good candidate not for the Obama "pot shots" hand slapping but yet now quite as a call to a new international coalition to a force of overwhelming force for new apportionments and securing. Seems!
