Marco Rubio has some interesting perspectives about normalization of relations with Cuba, emphasizing the lack of concessions in terms of free trade and democracy. I am excited for Cuba and sad a the same time. The culture of Cuba has been in something of a time warp by virtue of the embargo. There is about to be a lot of culture shock in Cuban society, more opportunity seems inevitable and that tends to bring about the kind of changes, like more freedom of trade Rubio wants.
