Marde Momin Marde Haq Ziaul Haq, Ziaul Haq. This slogan never been said to any president in the history of Pakistan. President Ziaul Haq came power when Pakistan was at the brink of total collapse. Pakistan lost its East wing due to Indian conspiracy with Mujibur Rehman and successfully liberated from West Pakisans dominance thereby creating a new nation called Bangladesh. The war lasted only 13 days which was a record breaking event in the history and about 90,000 to 93,000 soldiers including paramilitary were were captivated by the Indian army. The surrender was a great shock for West Pakistan and about 300,000 to 3,000,000 civilians were killed during this liberation struggle in East Pakistan and many took reguge in Indian cities and neighboring countries. Although Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto managed to rescue the prisoners of war from Indian captivation but lost his confidence in general and all the economic burden due to downfall of Easter Wing fell upon Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to uplift the souring economy. The currency was devalued to Rs.10/- against US dollar from Rs.4/- approx. President Ziaul Haq was born on Agust 12, 1924 who was a BA graduate in economics from Dehli India. He also won the four star as Chief of Army staff who gained his popularity during Black September insurgency against King Hussain of Jordan. Ziaul Haq saw World War ll action as a British Indian officer. He participated in 1965 and 1970 war with India. Gen. Ziaul Haq had great ambition to make Pakistan a true Islamic state who waged war as Jihad with Soviet Union with United States collaboration. During his tenure the economy of Pakistan was considered to be fastest growing in South Asia, and the average GDP remained the highest in the history. Ziaul Haq died in 1988 after ruling 11 years in a mysterious plane crash. His death was a unique example that entire country has seen on television that biggest crawd I have ever seen in my life time that millions of people from all over Pakistan came to attend his juneral.
