Margaret Ann Bryan Bowman, 90, of Boonville passed away Monday afternoon June 24, 2013 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital. She was born in New Franklin, Mo., on Sept. 4, 1922, to Phillip A. Bryan and Rosalia Griesenhauer Bryan. Margaret was married to Bill Bowman on Nov. 1, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo., and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past November 1st. Margaret was a graduate of St. Peter & Paul High School, a member of St. Peter & Paul Parish, Legion of Mary, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, and the bible study group. Margaret and Bill were co-owners and operators of Spic & Span Cleaners in Boonville for 20 years until their retirement in 1985. Margaret is survived by her husband, Bill of the home, children, Dan & Connie Bowman of Fayette, Chris & Celeste Bowman of Boonville, and Mary & Gary Belstle of Fayette. She is also survived by two sisters Helen Settle of Lebannon, Mo., and Phyllis McNeese of Arlington, Tex. Margaret was blessed with six grandchildren, Seth Belstle, Fayette, Andrea Chen, Fairview Heights, Ill., Jesse Bowman, Columbia, Stacey Belslte, Boonville, Rebecca Ann Bowman, St. John, Mo., and Nathan Belstle, Fayette. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren, Landon Belstle, Brynn Belstle, Aurora Bowman, Blaine Chen, Jude Bowman, Cameron Chen, and Levi Belstle. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Rosemary Bessmer, one grandson, Zachary Belstle, and one nephew, James Bessmer. The rosary will be led by the Legion of Mary at 5:30 p.m.. with visitation following, until 8 o’clock on Friday evening, June 28th at Davis Funeral Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 11 a.m.. on Saturday (today). Burial will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Peter & Paul School.
