Margaret and Kixx are two very special dogs looking for special adopters. Margaret (white dog) came to us from a bad situation. She was living with 100 other dogs and she was not being appropriately cared for. When we took Margaret, she needed immediate medical attention and spent a week at the vet recovering from worms, Giardia, and starvation. Margaret has been with us for almost a year, and she has come a long way! She does take her time warming up to new people, so youll have to be patient and appreciate her at her own pace. Margaret has spent a lot of time inside the office and she does well. She loves the company of other dogs (both male and female) and would do best with another (or a few) dog friends. They help build Margarets confidence and show her its ok to play and be a dog! Margaret is a staff and volunteer favorite. We cant wait to see the awesome adopter that gets to win the love of this special dog!!! Kixx (brown/white) came to Lone Star Sanctuary as a puppy from Animal Control. We saved Kixx and his littermates from near death. All of Kixxs littermates have found homes, and now we hope Kixx will find his soon! Kixx is a shy dog. But he is in his element when he has canine friends to play with. Kixx would do best with another dog that can help teach him how to warm up to people. His sweet, curious nature tells us hell be a real star when he finds a home of his own. He just needs that adopter that will give him plenty of time to adjust. Both Margaret and Kixx are deserving of good homes. They both need adopters that are understanding and kind. Adopting a shy dog can be very rewarding! Helping a shy dog come out of their shell is an amazing experience you will never forget!
