Marian Louise Potts Lively, 79, of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday evening, July 9, 2014, at Garland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hot Springs. She was born March 12, 1935, in Keota, Oklahoma, to the late Howard and Grace Allen Potts. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tom Martin of Hot Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Lively, a daughter, Sue Ann Lively Cormier, her parents, two brothers and one sister. She lived the Christian faith as a Baptist. She graduated Bacone College and was a homemaker, devoting her life to raising two daughters and a husband. She and Lloyd retired to Malvern in 1986 to be close to their daughters and their families. Marian was an expert seamstress and an accomplished quilter. She found great joy in the family fishing camp on Toledo Bend Lake. She also was an avid reader and loved TV mysteries and interesting conversation. The family expresses gratitude to the staff at The Crossing for the tender, loving care they gave to Marian and to them throughout the past year. They also express their warm thanks to Garland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Dierksen Memorial Hospice for exceptional care and comfort during the last days of Marian’s life. A private memorial service is being planned. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:00 P.M., Monday July 14th, 2014 at Gross Funeral Home.
