He indulged himself in all night parties in the company of different women. He drowned himself in the glamour of the night lights and easily fell into the same routine every day. He lived for the present and did not bother to think about the future. At first he thought everything is fine for he had all the things others can’t buy. Then suddenly realization sank in. He felt sad and incomplete. He realized he never felt the true meaning of happiness. Yes he was very popular and well known... But all because of his money. Never because of anything deeper. Now at the age of 35, fate dictated him to go back home and stay for good. Everyday he would sit in the park with his best friend Glen..... reminiscing and reliving his past. Then one day Vince fell while he was reaching out for a glass of water in a nearby table. Then suddenly when he looked up, it was like God sent an angel from heaven to help him. Mary was there giving him her helping hands. Once she settled him back to his seat, with the sweetest smile on her face he had ever seen, she asked him if will be okay all by himself. With an embarrassed nod he told her he will be fine. He thanked her with a smile. And she welcomed him back with the same sweet smile on her face but decided to sit with him. Being a nurse herself, she instinctively attended to his needs and even massaged his legs without really thinking. Then in an instant realized what she was doing so withdrew with an embarrassed yet still sweet smile. From that moment on, Vince knew in his heart that Mary is the girl God had made for him. A girl who did not hesitate to help a stranger... a presumably incapacitated stranger for that matter. A girl who not only brought light in his life... but also gave him hope that after all, whatever he did at the start seems to be the right thing to do. They started as friends. Friendship which continued to grow deeper with each passing day. She wanted him to get better... to feel better. More than that, she wanted them to know each other better. They knew there is something between them. Something VERY SPECIAL that neither one of them was willing to admit. And when they finally did, Vince got worried. He was afraid that the game he started to play would now haunt him. He was afraid he would lose Mary all because of this crazy game he played. What seemed right at the start, he knew now to be wrong. So he made a decision. He will do right by her. For all the wrong things he had done, loving her was the only thing that came out right. He knew he couldnt lose her to this game... He had to tell her the truth. And there in the same spot at the very same park where it all began, he shed all his lies... I love you from the very first day I met you. And that is the ONLY TRUTH from among all these lies. I am not paralyzed. There never was any accident. I had never been in any hospital except when I am working. I had never seen any doctor except when taking their orders. It may all be just a lousy game, but falling in love with you was never a part of it. I am sorry I put you through all these. Please forgive me and let me love you more. I love you truly and hope to spend the rest of my life with you. Mary was speechless. She didt know what to make of all these. All she could think of was the love she gave him unconditionally. She wanted to be angry. She wanted to hate him. But she knew her love for him would not allow that. She knew she could not right a mistake by committing another mistake. And she knew loving him was the only right thing to do. Vince hugged her tight while crying... Mary was crying too. Their tears were the silent witness to their love so pure. Theirs is a relationship which was made in heaven.... A relationship borne out of lies but made strong by pure, unconditional love... Their hearts told them they can start all over again... Live a new life together. This time for real without any pretenses..... No more lies... Only the truth between two people who fell so deeply in love when lies and love collided…
