Maridany Mutai while I partly agree with you that the current CEC has tried to some extent, the deterioration of refuse collection in town started with the former CEC (Lady) and has now become worse with the passage of time. Why I think we need to go down with somebody this time round is because, among many other factors:- 1. Raw sewage has been flowing from near Kericho Day to the river for many days. This is a river that residents draw water from. If you need videos and photos I will supply you. 2. Raw sewage has been flowing from below Kericho Academy to the river for many days. Again this is the same river that raw sewage from 1 above flows into and residents draw water from! 3. Raw sewage has been flowing near PCEA at the point where charcoal is being sold for almost a month! Charcoal sellers and mitumba/Market traders and customers have had to put up with the flowing sewage beneath their legs and the stench! 4. Sewage has been flowing at Jua kali near Duplex for almost a month now. 5. Raw sewage has been flowing from a manhole opposite Total petrol station near Parksons for days and flows all the way up to past Kericho law Courts and beyond! The list is long. It is normal for blockage to occur once in a while, but it is NOT acceptable that a system that is supposed to be functioning well can allow raw sewage to flow everywhere for many days/weeks! It signifies an incompetent/inefficient system, to say the least! Is this vendetta and witch hunt according to you? I have photographs and videos of all that and it is deplorable! You said attacking the Governor’s staff is akin to attacking the governor himself? I don’t buy that and it is tantamount to shielding incompetent and inefficient staff who lack a degree of urgency in the discharge of their duties. It is in the interest of the Governor and the entire County that we take a hardline stand on these shortcomings in our County. Our lawyers are drafting the petition which will go to the Assembly for deliberation and action.
