Marie Jutras Part Three Marie is now 86 years old and has been retired from teaching for over twenty years. Marie never married, even after leaving her religious order. She was a faithful Catholic school teacher for the rest of her working life. On Mother’s Day of 2014, Marie received a card from the young American girl she had taught 59 years before. The girl, now a woman of 74, wrote to old her teacher, “Thank you for taking me under your wing and loving me as if I were your own. Those were the happiest four years of my life.” Do you think teachers make a difference?
