Marine Operator & Marina Assistant, Fleetwood Associated British Ports - Fleetwood Requirements: • A knowledge of Port Operations and the marine industry. • Pro-active attitude to Health and Safety and able to work to agreed Safe Systems of Work. • Able to work safely under present governmental legislation and ABP policies and codes. • Requirement to undertake tidal shift work, working as part of a small team. • Requirement to provide cover for marina duties • Knowledge of Lock operations. • Willing to be flexible to assist with rapidly changing work requirements. • Computer literate • Full clean driving licence. • Good interpersonal and customer service skills Main Duties: • Local operation of swing bridge • Use of lockhead machinery to operate lock gates and sluices. • Regular inspection and general housekeeping including bridges, lock pits etc. • Supervision of vessel movements throughout the port • Regular inspection of lifesaving equipment. • Use of VHF radio to assist in Marine Operations. • Use of marina computerised billing system • Use of marina boat lift • Assisting in emergency operations under supervision. • Control of fuel deliveries and bunkering of vessels. • Reporting of faults and unsafe conditions to Supervisor. • Cleaning and painting duties. • Removal of debris and flotsam from dock waters.
