Mario Andretti in his factory Ferrari 512S is side by side with Steve McQueen in his Porsche 908/02 as they begin to brake for turn 11 on the old Sebring 5.2 mile course. This is the legendary 1970 race and Andretti and co-driver Arturo Merzario will lead most of the race in their 5-liter car while McQueens 3-liter Porsche set a steady pace that would net him and co-driver Peter Revson second place behind the winning 512 of Andretti, Vaccarella and Giunti. Andrettis original 512 retired late in the race and he was put into the third place Vaccarella/Giunti 512 with orders to win the race and he did. This win would be the only points win for a Ferrari 512.
