He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Mississippi State. Haggan has also played for the Denver Broncos and St. Louis Rams. He attended Clarksdale High School, where he played football and was named an All-American. He was named first-team all-state by the Jackson Clarion-Ledger and played in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game. He led his team to the state Class 4A championship in 1997. As a senior, he recorded 158 tackles with three fumble recoveries. He earned Honorable Mention All-American honors by USA Today. He is married to wife Tanika Haggan who previously was a high school volleyball coach in Rowlett, Tx. rowlettvolleyball/index_08_09.html College career[edit] Haggan played college football at Mississippi State. Haggan started at linebacker in 1999, a season that saw Mississippi State start 8-0 and earn one of the highest national rankings in school history. Professional career[edit] Buffalo Bills[edit] Haggan was drafted in the 7th round of the 2003 draft by the Buffalo Bills. Denver Broncos[edit] Haggan during a game in 2009. Haggan was named starting an OLB and a defensive captain for the Denver Broncos in 2009, he was moved to ILB in 2010. Haggan was valued by the Broncos as a depth player for his versatility, having played all three linebacker positions and both defensive end positions. For the third-straight season, Haggan led the Bulldogs in tackles this past season. He totaled 119 hits, including seven and one-half for loss (minus 17 yards). Haggan led State with three caused fumbles. A three-time, all-SEC performer, Haggan earned first-team all-league recognition by the Associated Press and second-team all-America honors in 2000. He was a second-team, all-SEC choice by the leagues sportswriters in 2001. Darren Williams, a true freshman defensive back also from Clarksdale, was named to both The Sporting News SEC All-Freshman Team and to the leagues all-freshman team, as announced by the league office in a vote of the conference coaches. Williams played in all 12 games, starting eight times. He made 62 tackles, including one for loss (minus 1 yard), and led the Bulldogs with three pass interceptions (44 yards in returns). Williams also recovered one fumble and had four pass deflections.
