Maris is another gentle soul who was found discarded like yesterdays newspaper at the local dump (shoot) hiding in a cave. She was paralysed with open wounds and sores all over her hind legs, indicative of her dragging herself in order to move. She was taken to the Vet who diagnosed severe ehrlichia and anemia. Also she might have been either beaten or hit by a car because once she started to walk her back is arched very strangely and she still drags her back legs. She is getting stonger by the day and is such a sweet, submissive funloving doggy. Poor Maris also has to deal with heartworm but again, we are taking it one day at a time. Our Vet suggested some lumbar xrays to see if there are any signs of trauma. These will be scheduled for next week. She is doing better every day and because she is a young little lady of approx 2 years old we pray she will make a full recovery.
