Mark 1:35. In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up - TopicsExpress

Mark 1:35. In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed. After a long evening of healing and teaching, Jesus wakes up early and slips away to pray. He needs time and quiet to commune with God. Jesus is not unlike each of us. We need time to ourselves to recharge and rest. We need time for personal devotion and reflection. While we might enjoy the company of others, we need our own space too. This need is recognized in the commandment to keep the sabbath, the day of rest. As our world becomes more complicated, more ideas, images, people, and things compete for our attention. Our society pressures us to keep busy and to multitask, and all the while we become more and more distracted. We are unable to relax, let go, or rest. We need to slip away early in the morning to pray. In prayer, alone, we come before God. We can put down whatever work we have and unburden ourselves of our worries. We are able to listen to what the Spirit is saying to us in and through our lives. Slip away with Jesus. youtube/watch?v=-O5hz5KnSdc
