Mark 11:20-22 says, And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. The fig tree in the scriptures always represents natural Israel and a works based system. (LAW) All through the Gospels, JESUS was saying that it was just about lights out for natural Israel. GOD was about to remove the middle wall of separation. Ephesians 2:13-14 says, But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off (GENTILES) are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us. GOD didnt exclude ISRAEL. HE just drew a bigger circle and included the rest of the world!! PRAISE GOD!! All can receive salvation, through JESUS and HIS finished work. That is awesome!! By cursing the fig tree, JESUS was saying you can never do enough works for your salvation. There will never be any fruit, from that system that the JEWS were under. JESUS WAS INTRODUCING A NEW COVENANT! A FAITH BASED SYSTEM FOR ALL OF MANKIND!! Ephesians 2:8-9 says, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. YOU dont work for what JESUS finished. You believe. Your belief in HIM will produce good works. Then that, will be well pleasing to GOD!! Have a great day!
