Mark 12 v 30 THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. One of the ten elements of fitness is strength. We will talk about strength training some other day but in the meantime ; 10 ELEMENTS OF FITNESS According to the Crossfit ethos, there are 10 components of fitness. All of these points can be trained, while some of them are more down to genetics and God given ability . All the more reason to Train your Weaknessses. Hammer the things you can, the things you dont want to, and often! (1) Cardiovascular-respiratory endurance-The ability of body systems to gather, process and deliver oxygen. (2) Stamina-The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store and utilise energy. (3) Strength-The ability of a muscular unit, or combination of muscular units to apply force. (4) Flexibility-The ability to maximise the range of motion at a given joint. (5) Power- The ability of a muscular unit , or combination of muscular units to apply maximum force in a minimum time. (6) Coordination-The ability to combine several distinct movement patterns into a singular distinct movement. (7) Agility-The ability to minimise transition time from one movement pattern to another. (8) Balance-The ability to control the placement of the bodys center of gravity in relation to its support base. (9) Accuracy-The ability to control movement in a given direction or at a given intensity.
