Mark 14:27 And Jesus saith unto them, ALL YOU SHALL BE OFFENDED BECAUSE OF ME this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. How can anyone who has seen JESUS and KNEW HIM such as those who were part of the FLOCK, and where there with him when he came in the flesh, BE OFFENDED at WHO HE WAS? Then Peter so SURE OF HIMSELF made this quote below to JESUS. Mark 14:29 But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I. 30 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto you, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, YOU SHALL DENY ME THREE TIMES. 31 But PETER spake the more vehemently, If I SHOULD DIE WITH YOU, I WILL NOT DENY YOU IN ANY WISE. LIKEWISE ALSO SAID THEY ALL. Each of us THINK we are so STRONG in OUR BELIEF that JESUS IS LORD and that WE WONT DENY HIM, though in the time of TROUBLE, WILL YOU STAND STRONG as YOU DO NOW? Dont deceive yourself as even Peter said to JESUS even in DEATH he would NOT DENY HIM, YET PETER DID. I have had to examine myself on this and do much prayer to the LORD concerning the time coming when His SAINTS must stand firm in not denying our LORD at the face of DEATH perhaps. Luke 7:23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me Jesus speaks to us now about the coming time of Tribulation. That he has a KING ( Rev 17:11) who is to come that is not now, but will come, who will OPPOSE US, HIS Saints (Rev 13:7). We are entering into a TIME of Great Evilness from men who do not believe in JESUS and they take us captive (Revelation 13:9-10) Be encouraged to seek the LORD for strength in not denying him, because without his help we saw that PETER denied him. We must not do this. Preparation is everything in becoming steadfast in being a servant of the MOST HIGH. Peter denied JESUS BEFORE HE RECEIVED the HOLY SPIRIT as John spoke about this receiving of the Comforter and how we would be empowered by the spirit of God after Jesus ascension. John 15:18 If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love his own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 REMEMBER THE WORD THAT I HAVE SAID UNTO YOU, The servant is not greater than his lord. IF THEY HAVE PERSECUTED ME, THEY WILL ALSO PERSECUTE YOU; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 21 But ALL THESE THINGS WILL THEY DO UNTO YOU FOR MY NAMES SAKE, BECAUSE THEY KNOW NOT HIM THAT SENT ME. We know the apostles stayed the course and NO LONGER DENIED JESUS after they received the Holy Spirit. We also are EMPOWERED by that same spirit of GOD. Yet, we must know in our hearts that we will not deny HIM in the time of Opposition from the great KING who is to come against us. The FLESH can not rule us, but the spirit of GOD, must be what LEADS each of us in times of persecution which is to come on the people of God in the Last Days coming upon this Earth that will bring OUR KING JESUS BACK.
