Mark 16: 15-18 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." We have denominations that are split about the BAPTISM issue...whether you MUST be baptized to be saved...if you go totally under or if you can be sprinkled. Placing so much emphasis on the WATER itself. BUT scripture does not say if we are not BAPTIZED we will be damned...but if we do not BELIEVE we will be damned. THIS scripture goes along with what I wrote about last night. This is the scripture I turned to when I started my devotion time this morning...going right along with last nights "THOUGHTS". Baptism is not what SAVES...it is the BELIEF!! A belief that once you fully understand...leads to being BAPTIZED...meaning DYING to SELF...and FILLED BACK WITH THE LIFE OF CHRIST....his HOLY SPIRIT. It is that LIVING IN HIM. Being a living sacrifice that GOD is trying to show us. I can be WASHED of water everyday...but it will not cleans me. Neither does the ACT of BAPTISM alone CLEANS A MAN FROM SIN. It is the BELIEF....attached to the FAITH of BAPTISM. Everything is an ACT OF FAITH. We do the LITTLE things...GOD asks...so that he can perform the IMPOSSIBLE thru us. Being "baptized" is not capable of KILLING the OLD man...and Resurrecting the new man...BUT the FAITH in that baptism releases GOD to do that Impossible thing in our life. WE kill the OLD man...he raises the NEW man of CHRIST in our life. It always boils down to the HEART CONDITION...not the physical ACT. I have wrote about this before...the thief on the CROSS did not have time to be PHYSICALLY BAPTIZED....but trust me...he was BAPTIZED in the HOLY SPIRIT...when he CONFESSED that HE was not worthy.....but THIS MAN HAD DONE NOTHING. He had the "REVELATION" necessary...in his HEART...to allow GOD to CLEANS him of his sin. THIS is TRUE BAPTISM. What we call Baptism today is just a public confession...before our fellow BROTHER. BUT even that ACT is in vain if it does not come with the FAITH AND HEART condition necessary for GOD to perform the IMPOSSIBLE in your life. Are you following me?? What are we believing?? Here is how it is spoken of in 1 John 3:2 "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." We believe in the DEATH and RESURRECTION that allowed GOD to have a bridge between us and him...that we are NOW...IN THIS LIFE..."sons of GOD". ALTHOUGH it says it does not "APPEAR WHAT WE SHALL BE"....meaning that it may not LOOK LIKE it yet....but we have this faith...because when JESUS CHRIST RETURNS..we will be what he is. THE SON OF GOD. We will fully see him..and all his GLORY. Finally understanding this wonderful relationship that GOD has desired of us all along. Everything revolves around this relationship....this BELIEF that causes ACTION...OBEDIENCE...ONENESS with him. GOD willing...I will write more of this...as it is beautiful once you start to apply these principles to your own life. All who desire to KNOW GOD...fully trusting in HIS WORD...has a strong desire to apply the principles of the WORD to their life...personally. Not a corporate belief...that the BODY as a whole is subject too...but that personal relationship that leads to becoming part of his TRUE CHURCH. ONE ACCORD.
