Mark 5:22 Then one of the rulers of the synagogue came up, Jairus by name; and seeing Him, he prostrated himself at His feet 23 And begged Him earnestly, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, so that she may be healed and live. When we have a desperate situation we have no trouble coming to Jesus for help. There is an old expression that says There are no atheists in fox holes. Jairus was looking for Jesus to perform a healing on his daughter. But what happened when he got news that his daughter had died? Mark 5:35 While He was still speaking, there came some from the ruler’s house, who said [to Jairus], Your daughter has died. Why bother and distress the Teacher any further? 36 Overhearing but ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing. Jesus ignored what they said. He told Jairus Keep on believing. In other words, dont quit believing just because it seems impossible. Death seems pretty final in the human realm. Here is what happened. Mark 5:41 Gripping her [firmly] by the hand, He said to her, Talitha cumi—which translated is, Little girl, I say to you, arise [[s]from the sleep of death]! 42 And instantly the girl got up and started walking around—for she was twelve years old. And they were utterly astonished and overcome with amazement. He stretched their faith to believe for the impossible. He wants to do the same with our faith. When things look totally impossible in your situation, it never *is* because you have Jesus. You can look to Him and find help beyond what seems possible, because for Him NOTHING is impossible. It is all within the realm of possibility. He is forever and always the GOD of all HOPE.
