Mark 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? A well-renowned verse that has been commonly recited throughout history. This is one of Bible verses In which we get a good understanding of the importance of one’s soul. There are numerous definitions as to what a soul is, but the most common Biblical translation is the Spiritual and immortal part of a man. To God, the soul defines who we are as a person. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose is own soul? To gain the whole world is used to describe a man who is willing to do anything for his own worldly pleasures and in biblical sense to ignore his spiritual well-being. For what shall it profit a man gives us a comprehension of the value of a soul. Indeed, there is no spiritual profit for a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul. A basic translation is For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and forget about God in the process? Without a doubt the soul is the most important aspect of a man.
