Mark Farleys great fan review of A Psychedelic Symphony DVD: I received my copy of the church DVD live at the Sydney opera house today. Have just watched it in its entirety. The best live show of any band Ive ever seen. How I feel about not having seen this live Ill skip over. A number of things that struck me; Steve has absolutely mastered the instrument of his voice, confident and having become the consummate front man. He acts out many of his lyrics. The disillusionist was a song I really had no time for until seeing Steves theatrical performance in a YouTube concert post a while ago. Pure theatre, and its unsettling in its delivery. A disgusting character. Similarly Never before, here with full orchestration, an epic song that Id always passed over when listening to Uninvited..., Peters vocals in this performance are absolutely spot on ,as if this has come of age as a church classic. Im not given to (over) sentimentality but this concert had me at points in tears, or at very least with a lump in the throat as listening and watching live memories were inevitably brought up. The Church deserve this adulation. God knows theyve worked for it. The only thing that still puzzles me; after all these years how is it that this brilliant band have not become one of the most artistically and commercially biggest bands ever (No ? mark as this is largely a rhetorical question). The international music industry should be ashamed of itself. However does anyone think the pennys beginning to drop ? PS: Tantalized- WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWooooooooowwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!
