Mark Your Calendars! MoCo Arts is pleased to announce an impressive lineup for their 2014-2015 performance season! Audiences will delight in a Holiday classic, three adventurous Billy Goats, an unforgettable trip to Neverland and one green ogre with his loveable sidekick. December 7, 2014 – Tweens Musical Theatre Presents The Universe and Other Stuff. Buckle up for a hip-hop ride through history. From dinosaur extinction to Columbus, from the wheel to space exploration, theyre all rediscovered in this clever, chaotic, comical cataclysm of creativity. December 19, 20 & 21, 2015 – School of Dance Presents The Nutcracker at The Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College. It’s Christmas Eve, the Stahlbaum family are anticipating the arrival of their guests. When mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer arrives he brings Clara a special Nutcracker. Later that night when the clock strikes midnight, the Nutcracker comes alive and takes Clara on an unforgettable adventure. Don’t miss this Holiday classic! January 11, 2015 – Storytime Theatre Presents The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. Once upon a time there were three billy goats named “Gruff”. As they approach a mysterious bridge they are met by an ugly troll with eyes as big as saucers, and a nose as long as a poker. Will the troll let them cross the bridge? Will the three billy goats “Gruff” find their way? January 17, 2015 – Teens Musical Theatre Presents Peter Pan at The Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night. With a sprinkle of pixie dust begin a magical journey to Neverland that they will remember forever. March 21 & 22, 2015 – School of Dance Presents Time To Dance. This annual show is choreographed by the talented MoCo teachers and performed by MoCo’s advanced dancers. The intimate setting of the Black Box will allow the audience to experience a full range of emotions from the lovely, warmly human to the woefully melancholy, from wickedly funny to deeply moving and everything in between. April 12, 2015 – Tweens Musical Theatre Presents Pom-Pom Zombies. Its the 1960s, a big nuclear blast to the past! Schools out for the summer, and the teenagers of Ocean View High are ready to surf, sun and have some fun. Their favorite hangout is Barnacle Bettys Beach Club, which happens to be right next door to the evil Ivana Ratniks nuclear power plant. But oops! Cindy Sue, the head cheerleader, accidentally gets some nuclear slime on her hot dog instead of pickle relish, and soon the beach is overrun with pom-pom wielding zombies! May 2 & 3, 2015 – Teens Musical Theatre Presents Shrek. In a faraway kingdom, the green ogre Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits, runaways whove been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wise-cracking donkey to confront Farquaad, hes handed a task - if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. May 31, 2015 – Storytime Theatre Presents Dick Whittington and his Cat. Dick Whittington is a poor boy who travels to London with hopes of finding streets paved with gold. He arrives to find it filled with people, mud, and horses but no gold. He does however find a cat, a very special cat, who is the best mouser in the city. Will this cat bring fortune to poor Dick Whittington? June 6 & 7, 2015 – School of Dance Presents A Midsummer Nights Dream at The Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College. Under the light of the moon lies an enchanted forest. Here, complicated stories of love entangle with an arranged marriage, a comedic stage play and magical spells woven by the mischievous Puck. Is this real life, or just A Midsummer Night’s Dream? June 13 & 14, 2015 – Creative Dance Festival. This unique show features MoCo’s youngest performers, some as young as 3 years, showcasing for family and friends all of the dance technique and social skills they have learned over the semester. All shows are at the MoCo Arts Blackbox Theatre unless otherwise noted. To register students for Fall classes and an opportunity to perform visit moco.org or call 603-357-2100.
