Mark says he likes to refer to the day after infusion as “wired - TopicsExpress

Mark says he likes to refer to the day after infusion as “wired Wednesday.” We need to think of other names for Thursday through Sunday, and those adjectives would not be anywhere close to wired! Maybe Terrible Thursday, Fatigued Friday (I spent ALL day on the bed), #### Saturday, and slow Sunday. Today has been better, so I’m on the upswing now. Thank you, Father. Sadly, I was not able to visit with Paula Barnes when she brought dinner for us Friday night. I miss it when I can’t see our herd who come to the house. We appreciate all the heart friends we have. Frances Carson came over this morning with come calming lotion and we had a wonderful time visiting. Connie Umstead, a former co-worker at TBC was driving down from Murray, Ky, and we were going to have a good time visiting. However, she called and said she had a sinus infection so our face-to-face visit did not happen but I think we talked on the phone about an hour. She and her family moved away from Nashville in 2000. Sadly, when someone moves away we sometimes lose touch and we have done that. Facebook has made it easier to find and reconnect with friends. I am thankful for Connie and her friendship. She was such a bright spot in the Baptist and Reflector office. We promised to do better about keeping in touch. This is going to be another hectic week for us. My brother Randy from California comes to town Wednesday. Mark leaves for Goldsboro, NC on Friday to help Fred Kelly, former FBCN member, dedicate the Celebrating Grace Hymnal on Sunday. Weslee and Nathan and their families are coming in Friday for the weekend. WHEW! I’m tired. Randy has two grown children and no grandchildren yet so I told him we just stand against the wall and watch the chaos happen when everyone gets here. Our friend Myrte Veach is a very good tour guide, so she will show off our area to Randy. I’m hoping he’ll get a taste of our fall colors. Maybe he’ll fall in love with Tennessee and move here. Probably not, but we’ll show him some local attractions and we’ll have a good time. I’m excited about him coming. I am beginning to collect some sayings, songs, quotes, etc. that speak to me at certain times along this journey. Some I get out of books, some are songs of popular singers, some I even get off Facebook that are passed along. I’ll share some of these and will give credit when I know who says it. “Sometimes life takes us places we never expected to go. And in those places God writes a story we ever thought would be ours.” (Renee Swope) That is certainly true in our case. I hate cancer and all the ways it has robbed me of things I want to do, but I am interested in this new story God is writing for my life. I am finding more and more blessings along the way. Thank you, herd, for holding our hands along this path. It is much easier with you. Love and hugs to each of you, Honey and Mark
