Mark your calendars! TPA Park is the place to be July 18 for a Police community meeting at 6 p.m., followed by our last Twilight Concert at 7:30 p.m. Read on to learn details! SAFETY INFORMATION, MUSIC OFFERED IN TPA PARK JULY 18 Police and Parks Departments host community meeting, Twilight Concert Frankfort, IN – July 8, 2013 – Frankfort residents of all ages are invited to TPA Park Thursday, July 18 to learn safety information from Frankfort Police at 6:00 p.m. in the large shelter house, followed by the Parks Department’s last Twilight Concert of the summer featuring Mayor Chris McBarnes in the bandstand at 7:30 p.m. According to Police Chief Troy Bacon, this fourth community meeting of the year will focus on general crime and safety information, along with answering questions and hearing ideas from residents. “We look forward to hosting this community meeting in scenic TPA Park as we continue our ongoing work to create positive, open lines of communication between Frankfort citizens and the police. We hope residents and their families will join us that evening to share two-way communication to help us provide the best public safety service possible in Frankfort. “Residents’ participation in these meetings is key to helping us know concerns, questions and ideas we need to address for both specific neighborhoods and the City overall while giving us the opportunity to share helpful statistics and crime prevention information for everyone’s enhanced safety,” Bacon said. Following the community meeting, the Parks Department will host the final Twilight Concert of the summer season with musical entertainment provided by Mayor Chris McBarnes beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the TPA Park bandstand. According to Parks Superintendent Ron Gant, the Twilight Concerts continue to be popular events with Frankfort residents and visitors of all ages attending. “Our inaugural free concerts have been a hit with a variety of musical performers appearing since we launched the Series last month. We invite everyone to join us following the Police Department’s community meeting to enjoy the vocal talents of Mayor McBarnes. “There is plenty to enjoy daily at TPA Park, including our pool open from 11:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., picnic areas, playground equipment and our petting zoo, to name a few attractions,” Gant said. ### For questions or interview requests, contact Chief Bacon at 654-4245 or Parks Superintendent Ron Gant at 659-3422.
